Matt Davis tells TVGuide.com that it's looking pretty likely that Alaric Saltzman, the teacher and part-time vampire slayer he plays on The Vampire Diaries, will be back for Season 2. To commemorate that good news, we decided to count the ways we love Alaric.
1. Alaric's a great foil for Damon.
Alaric first teamed up with Damon Salvatore (Ian Somerhalder) to save Damon's brother Stefan (Paul Wesley); this time the odd pairing will have to protect...
O'Neal Hampton, Biggest Loser
O'Neal Hampton and his daughter Sunshine were eliminated on Day One of The Biggest Loser — only to receive another shot at competing four weeks later. Despite the weight O'Neal lost on the ranch (124 pounds) and the strong allies he made with his competitors, the 51-year-old willingly went home after he became eligible for elimination along with his daughter.
When speaking to TVGuide.com, O'Neal credited his mother for instilling in him a respect for women, the reason he and Sunshine, 23, have such a tight bond. "I put her on that pedestal ... She should be treated with the utmost respect and if she gets it from me in my household, she should expect the same level of respect outside of my household."
Alison Sweeney: "Definitely some friction" on the Biggest Loser ranch
Pack your bags because this week's Biggest Loser is heading to Texas. Why, you ask? Because according to Men's Fitness, five of the 10 fattest cities in the United States are located there. The overarching challenge for the week is to get the state fit, and it begins with a call to action: Contestants get on the radio stations and ask listeners to come join them in a 5k (3.1 miles).
Each player gets a team and away they go. Daris is looking mighty skinny as he races to finish first with a time of 21:02. He then heads back to find his team and finishes the course with them at his side. O'Neal inspires one 35-year-old and it makes me tear up. "Seeing how far you've come makes me think I can do this," she says to him. Isn't O'Neal the best? I loved his earlier quote: "The little things you do turn out big results and that's where it starts." Sam is inspired by a man named Jeff that has only ever walked a mile. At the finish there are lots of tears. One woman remarks, "I can't even walk through Wal-Mart. I have to take a cart, and I just walked 5k."
The setting of ABC's new drama Happy Town (premieres Wednesday at 10/9c) may look quaint and picturesque, but Haplin, Minn. holds memories of a string of unsolved kidnappings. TVGuide.com spoke to star Geoff Stults about playing the son of a sheriff in a town filled with mystery and murder. Find out why Stults believes that...
It's been a long two-month hiatus, but One Tree Hill has finally returned for four more episodes. After a very long montage to remind us where we left off — as if we forgot — Brooke says, "Good morning, boyfriend" to Julian. It's nice to see them together again. But while one couple is back and better than ever, two couples are splitting before they were even really a pair.
Grubbs and Miranda
I'm not quite sure when these two became a storyline, but a few episodes prior, Miranda, the somewhat cold Brit who is in charge of Haley's record deal, discovered that Grubbs, the Tric bartender, had quite the musical talent. Just as he decided to give recording a go — and that he also has feelings for the girl — Miranda learns she's getting deported back to England. So what does one do when their love is about to leave? Propose of course.
The ladies of The Hills have had their tears, tantrums, crushes and catfights. As the final season of the MTV reality show hits the airwaves Tuesday at 10/9c, we're looking back at some of the most memorable moments throughout the last five seasons.
Season 1, Episode 1
Lauren Conrad leaves Laguna Beach for Los Angeles to live with best friend Heidi Montag. Boy, were things different back then!
Biggest Loser trainer Jillian Michaels is defending a recent statement about not wanting to have children, saying her comment was misconstrued.
In an interview with Women's Health magazine, the 36-year-old was quoted as saying, "I can't handle doing that to my body." One media outlet used the headline: "I won't ruin my body with pregnancy."
One Tree Hill - James Lafferty
Although viewers are still waiting to hear whether One Tree Hill will get another season, at least one wait is over: After a two-month hiatus, the CW series is back Monday at 8/7c for this season's four final episodes. James Lafferty, who plays Nathan Scott, one of the only original characters left, tells TVGuide.com there are "really gratifying moments for those fans that have hung in there." Read on to see what Lafferty has to say about the season's last episodes, including some big decisions that will be made and where the series stands at the end of the season.
TVGuide.com: Before the show's hiatus, Haley's mom died. Will she and Nathan still be dealing with the loss when it returns?
James Lafferty: Yes, absolutely. There's definitely a grieving process. Not to make it sound like it'll be all gloom, but that's Haley's journey ...
