The fates of the remaining stranded survivors — Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), Derek (Patrick Dempsey), Cristina (Sandra Oh), Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) and Mark (Eric Dane) — were uncertain at the end of the Season 8 finale. But when TVGuide.com recently spoke with executive producer Shonda Rhimes, she inadvertently confirmed that Meredith, Derek and Cristina would survive when she gave up some information on how they'll be dealing with the aftermath of the crash next season. During the men's basketball Olympic quarterfinal on Wednesday, French player Nicolas Batum punched Spain's Juan Carlos Navarro in the groin. Shark Week is almost here!
Celebrating its 25th year, Shark Week will kick off Sunday, Aug. 12 at 9/8c with Air Jaws Apocalypse. The special will pick up where the Emmy-nominated Ultimate Air Jaws left off, with shark expert Chris Fallows and natural history producer Jeff Kurr embarking on a quest to track a 14-foot great white named Colossus in Seal Island, South Africa.
