Days of Our Lives Bids Farewell to Alice Horton

Frances Reid

Now this is Big Love! Days of Our Lives will celebrate the life, and honor the passing, of legendary actress Frances Reid with a farewell that's unprecedented in soap history. The beloved veteran, who played Salem matriarch Alice Horton from the show's debut in 1965 until her health became too fragile in 2007, died last February at age 95. On June 9, Days viewers will learn that Alice is rapidly declining, at which point several characters from the past will gather for a final visit... read more

What Exactly Happened to General Hospital's Michael?

Chad Duell

It's the most controversial soap plot of the year but is it really what we think it is? General Hospital has sent teenager Michael Corinthos III (Chad Duell) to prison for the death of his stepmother and, while there, he's been repeatedly beaten and presumably raped by Carter (Joshua Wingate), an inmate who is in league with the psychotic artist Franco (James Franco). Though the soap is dropping all sorts of hints that Michael has been sexually violated, no one on screen is using the R word. Nor is anyone at ABC Daytime. In fact, last week a network rep told TV Guide Magazine that the show wants viewers to make up their own minds about what's happening to Michael. But now GH's Emmy-winning head writer Bob Guza is coughing up a bit more info.

Is There Power Left in Heroes?

Heroes

Heroes ended its season last February with the indestructible Claire (Hayden Panettiere) throwing herself from the top of a Ferris wheel in front of the media, revealing her superpower to the world. Should the axed series return with a wrap-up miniseries—that's creator Tim Kring's hope, and he says he's meeting with NBC this month to discuss it — the plot will skip ahead a year or so to see the effect of Claire's revelation... read more

Y&R Preview: Paul and Nikki Get Back in the Sack

Doug Davidson, The Young and the Restless

This has gotta be some sort of TV record. On the Nov. 25 episode of The Young and the Restless, Paul (Doug Davidson) and Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) will have sex—three decades after the characters last did the deed! The surprise recoupling happens when Paul offers Nikki a place to stay while she copes with the death of her best friend, Kay (Jeanne Cooper), and recovers from her abusive relationship with Victor (Eric Braeden). They begin to reminisce about the past and end up in the sack.

Catherine Hickland

Catherine Hickland has been through so many failed marriages and painful relationships that she could write a book. And so she did. Eric Forrester has a problem. His wife won't give him up. And neither will his other wife. Guiding Light's Olivia and Natalia: Lez Be Frenemies?

Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia

Just as All My Children takes Bianca's new relationship to the next level, the Internet is abuzz with reports that Guiding Light is about to launch its own lesbian romance between Olivia and Natalia, the heterosexual — or so we thought — frenemies played by Crystal Chappell and Jessica Leccia.

Tune In Tamara: AMC Plot Twisters Surround Bianca's Return

Eden Riegel and Tamara Braun

Tamara Braun didn't plan to be back in the suds so soon, but she couldn't turn down a chance to make some daytime TV history. The acclaimed actress, recently seen as nutjob Ava Vitali on Days of Our Lives, will join All My Children Oct. 30 as lesbian architect Reese Williams. Viewers will learn that Reese has been having a very serious romance in Paris with the soap's sapphic icon, Bianca Montgomery (Eden Riegel). So serious that they're about to become parents. Yep, Binks is pregnant.

Logan Rave: Sweet Sounds on the Night Shift

Tristan Rogers and Finola Hughes

I nearly bailed on General Hospital: Night Shift because its season premiere back in July was just so awful. But then the show got good. Really good. And now it's indisputably superior to the mob-infested soap that spawned it.

Read and discuss the rest of Logan's rave after the jump. read more

Logan Rave: Lisa LoCicero Brings Sexy Back to GH's Sonny

Maurice Benard and Lisa LoCicero

Wasn't Lisa LoCicero's arrival on General Hospital as ballsy Brooklyn babe Olivia Falconeri utterly fantastic? Clearly, the show's top star, Maurice Benard (Sonny), thinks so. In their first scenes together last week, the duo set off some wildly intriguing sex sparks — which makes Benard's lack of chemistry with current leading lady Megan Ward (Kate) all the more obvious and disappointing.

GH is making a huge mistake if it doesn't team Sonny and Olivia now.
