Shemar Moore, Kristoff St. John
You can go home again — though you might be in for a shock. On Wednesday, Sept. 10, Criminal Minds star Shemar Moore returns to the daytime soap role that put him on the map 20 years ago, Malcolm Winters on CBS's The Young and the Restless. The two-episode experience left Moore, who left the show in 2005, stunned and pretty frazzled. He told TV Guide Magazine all about it.
TV Guide Magazine: Back to the old suds grind, eh? How'd it go in Genoa City?
Shemar Moore: It was both wonderful and scary. It was the same set ...
Family Guy and The Simpsons Crossover Episode
D'oh...nuts! Homer Simpson and his clan make a guest appearance on the Sept. 28 season premiere of Family Guy (9/8c, Fox) when the Griffins visit Springfield.
Brats Bart and Stewie team up for trouble, Lisa teaches Meg how to play the sax, and Homer and Peter shoot the bull over brewskis. "We let [the Family Guy team] do their thing with the script," says The Simpsons executive producer Al Jean. "Both shows are all about satire. We weren't about to say, 'You can't make fun of us!'"
Nicole Munoz, Linda Hamilton and Justin Rain
Come with me if you want to live! Linda Hamilton emerged from 1984's The Terminator as one of the great heroines of science fiction — now she's threatening to do some terminating of her own. On Thursday's two-hour season finale of the futuristic Western Defiance, Hamilton's crazed character, Pilar McCawley, will kidnap her pregnant daughter at gunpoint and attempt to take her far away.
Don't you just want to pinch his cheek? Grandparents adore sweetheart satirist Mo Rocca and he adores them — so much so that he roams the country with his Cooking Channel series, My Grandmother's Ravioli, to revel in their AARP-tastic wisdom and uncover their culinary secrets. And he never leaves without the recipes!
The Bold and the Beautiful...and the hilarious? Comedy great Fred Willard has been set for a four-episode guest appearance on the hit CBS soap opera playing John Forrester, younger brother of fashion king Eric Forrester (John McCook). John is also the father of jewelry designer Ivy Forrester (Ashleigh Brewer), the show's new Aussie beauty who was recently brought to America by Eric to help out with the family business.
When you have this much talent, you just have to spread it around. This fall, Emmy-winning soap sensation Eileen Davidson will find herself in the enviable and unprecedented position of playing juicy, front-burner roles on both NBC's Days of Our Lives and CBS's The Young and the Restless. Why such generosity of spirit on the part of rival networks? It's all about survival — and we don't mean Davidson's.
Judgment at Nuremberg
Turner Classic Movies will devote Tuesdays in September to a wide array of films focusing on Jewish history and heritage, from Al Jolson's 1927 "talkie" The Jazz Singer, to the Nazi war crimes drama Judgment at Nuremberg to the Barbra Streisand-Robert Redford romance The Way We Were.
Bob Barker on The Bold and the Beautiful
The price is wrong, bitch! Game show icon Bob Barker will spoof his classic fight scene from Happy Gilmore — the one where he beat the bejesus out of Adam Sandler — on the Thursday, Aug. 28 episode of CBS's The Bold and the Beautiful. The plot has bad boy Wyatt Spencer (Darin Brooks) foolishly mouthing off about Barker's pet cause — pets! Not only does TV Guide Magazine have an exclusive video preview of the resulting smackdown (below), we also spoke to the 90-year-old Barker to get all the deets.
The Young and the Restless has finally found its Adam Newman! TV Guide Magazine can exclusively report that, after an extensive casting search, the part of the presumed-dead Genoa City troublemaker has gone to former Smallville and Revenge star Justin Hartley. The actor will report for work at the CBS soap in late September and is scheduled to hit the air during November sweeps.
He's a shadow of his former self, but Graham Elliot is still pulling his weight on MasterChef. The reality-competition judge and acclaimed restaurateur (he runs Chicago's Graham Elliot Bistro) underwent bariatric surgery last year and has since dropped 150 pounds. But some things never change, such as his sunny disposition.
