Netflix Signs Deal with DreamWorks to Air New Animated Shows

Netflix will begin airing original animated series based on DreamWorks Animation characters next year thanks to a new deal signed between the streaming service and the animation studio.

The agreement, which was announced Monday, provides for more than 300 hours of original animated content, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new shows will be based on new and existing DreamWorks Animation characters (i.e. Shrek, Kung Fu Panda), as well as characters from Classic Media, which DreamWorks Animation purchased last year (i.e. Lassie, Frosty the Snowman).
