Everyone is having trouble with his or her love life this week. Sam gets his heart broken, Hannah breaks up with Ray after he asks her to move in with him, Janet cant decide whether or not Eddie is romantically interested in her, Phil struggles with asking Pizza Girl in for a date, and Nick has an embarrassment of riches in Aubrey and Hannah.Sam asks Nick for help getting the attention of Amanda, the girl he has a crush on. This causes all sorts of trouble at home. Hannah cant believe her baby is growing up and not coming to her for advice on girls and Ray cant believe Hannah is letting Nick of all people give Sam advice. Nicks three-phase approach includes the following:Phase One: Youve gotta do something interesting. As Nick says, If you want to make the time, youve got to commit the crime. Sam takes this quite literally by liberating the fruit flies the second graders are experimenting on. Amanda seems impressed but the ...

I am so happy this show is back on the air. I can remember when it aired after Greys Anatomy. Then Men in Trees took over that spot, and October Road is currently living there. All I can say is, Im glad Six Degrees is back because I missed it. Im happy to watch it whenever and wherever ABC wants to air it.If anyone is new to the show, you probably have questions. Im going to try to summarize the show as simply and quickly as I can. There will probably be important things that I leave out. Here goes. Laura is the mom of Eliza. She is recently widowed and trying to get back on her feet and find a job. Whitney is a PR dynamo who just ended her engagement to her cheating, lying fiancé. She and Laura are friends. Steven is a photographer who is just getting back into being a photographer after a serious bout with the bottle. He is trying to have a relationship with his son Max, whom he almost never sees. He's also dating the much younger Anya. Damian is tryin...

Im a huge fan of snarky, sarcastic, dry humor, and this show seems to have it in spades. Jeff Goldblum is highly enjoyable in this role; the taunting, the teasing, the inappropriate humor I might be in heaven. For anyone who missed last weeks pilot episode the first minute or so did a great job bringing you up to speed. Raines sees and talks to dead people, but they arent ghosts and they dont know anything he doesnt know. They are more of a sounding board. He talks to them to work out the details of his case. Did I mention theyre dead? He doesnt do too well with the living. And I think once hes solved the case the victims dont perform their vanishing acts until hes helped their families in some way. Last week Raines helped Sandys mom get the money her daughter had been saving for her, and this week he helped Aurelio meet his daughter-in-law and grandchild.I have to say I was very excited to see A. Martinez...

Im about to get really, really girly here so if you want to bypass the female ranting please feel free to skip to the next paragraph. Whats up with Eddie? Why does he have to be that guy? He sees that his ex-best friend Nick is interested in Aubrey and decides to go after her out of spite? Really? I wont say hes immature, but I will say 30 is the new 18 in Knights Ridge. I love that Aubrey figures things out before the payback goes too far. See ya Casa-no-good. And his semi-recovery at the bar later that night when he asks Janet out and looks after his drunk friend Ikey? Damage done. Not buying it. Sorry. Now that thats out of my system, lets talk about what I liked. I loved that Nick tried to get a job at the Duf after he told Hannah he was already employed there. Im glad hes decided to stick around and try to mend all those broken bridges. Lying about the job probably wasnt his best move, but he does seem...

I remember hearing about this show a while ago. Im one of those extremely nerdy people who pays attention to all the pilots that are greenlit by the networks as well as those that get picked up to be series. Did I mention Im a nerd? I was excited about this show in particular for three reasons: Bryan Greenberg, Laura Prepon and Tom Berenger. These three names alone made me want to watch it. I never got into One Tree Hill, but I loved Bryan Greenberg on HBOs Unscripted. I was so disappointed when it didnt get renewed for a second season. And Laura Prepon is our beloved Donna or Big Red from That '70s Show. And Tom Berenger. I think hes just a great actor who doesnt seem to be getting much work. And I have to say that the talents of all three of these actors are underutilized here. But Im not saying the show doesnt have potential. I think this is a great concept. I was one of those kids who couldnt wait to get out of my ...

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome youve given me as well as your thoughtful comments. Please keep them coming. Im going to keep the recap and comments a little short this week (hey, its a repeat after all) and pose some questions at the end, which I encourage everyone to respond to.I forgot how excited I was when Mario Cantone made his first guest appearance as Terry the hairdresser. I remember him so fondly from his days on Sex and the City. I wonder if Jenny Bicks will be able to entice anyone else from the show to make a guest appearance in Elmo. I hope so. But back to Mario. Im as New York as the Statue of Liberty but less of a queen, he tells Marin when they meet, then promptly lops off way too much hair during a tremor. A larger tremor results in an avalanche that traps Patrick and his newly discovered father in Buzzs cabin. Marin tucks her hair woes under a hat and teams up with Jack to help find the missing pair. And what...

Since I was tardy to this party, I thought Id blog on the two repeats ABC will air before banishing our beloved Men in Trees until April. Thats right, we wont see any new episodes until the 12th or 26th. October Road will be taking over the time slot, and if you guys are interested Ill be blogging on that until Men in Trees returns. It was interesting to watch the second episode of the season again tonight. Its still the beginning for Jack and Marin and Patrick and Annie. Everything is so new. Each couple is testing the waters. Sigh. New love. And its the end for Ben and Teresa. Its got to be weird to live with your ex and date other people. Well, I guess only Teresa is dating, and although Ben says he was OK with it, I loved it when he accidentally separated a sideview mirror from the truck of Teresas new boyfriend. Take that.Marin aptly sums up her state of mind when she says, I was supposed to sleep with Ian to get my power bac...

Nooooooooooooooooooo! I actually gasped out loud when Jack suggested he and Lynn get married. And when she said yes? No. No. No!! I was willing to go along with things when Lynn showed up after breaking Jacks heart. I was even willing to go along with things when we found out she was having another mans baby. But getting married? They are about to push me too far. I mean, I guess I can understand that Lynn and Jack are childhood sweethearts. And if Jack fell in love with Lynn in the first place, she must have redeeming qualities. I guess there isnt anything better than first love. Except maybe chocolate. But seriously. Im having trouble here. Does anyone else feel like he should really be with Marin? I did get quite a bit of satisfaction out of the ring not fitting on her finger.Marin seems to be trying to move on, too. Shes finally moving into her own place, even though Mr. Fix It is still there. Dont get me wrong, that man looks very nice withou...
