Karina Opens Up on Mario's Alleged Cheating

In an interview Monday, Dancing pro Karina Smirnoff opened up about the news that her recent ex (and former dance partner), Mario Lopez, had been cheating on her for close to a year, even while the pair lived together. Reports surfaced over the weekend that Lopez had been secretly involved with Hooters waitress (and upcoming reality show contestant) Meagan Cooper. Speaking with E!'s Chelsea Handler, Smirnoff fought tears as she admitted how hard it was to go through the breakup, especially in the public eye, much less hear this latest news. "It could be worse," Smirnoff said. "It could be [Hugh Grant's prostitute] Divine Brown." Handler quipped that what really would've been worse would've been learning that Mario cheated on her with another man. Marlee Matlin Memoir to Reveal Hidden Addiction and More

Dancing alum Marlee Matlin may have been nixed from the dance floor midway through, but she hasn't missed a beat, announcing that she's writing her memoir. The tome is tentatively titled I'll Scream Later, and is due out in March '09.According to a statement from her publisher, an imprint of Simon & Schuster, the actress will discuss "unresolved issues and battles with addiction and abuse, many of which she kept hidden from the public and her family." The publishing house also promises some insights into Matlin's romantic and professional lives, explaining that her book will "delve into her loves and life in Hollywood." Cheryl Burke's Set for Summer of Dance, and Downtime

This summer, Cheryl Burke will actually be putting her feet up — or at least, she's going to try.During Sunday's annual Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation Carnival, Burke told that this summer, she's hoping to take a much-needed break, plus spend time in her new NorCal dance studio. "I'm flying back and forth to San Francisco a lot," she said, "and also trying to take a vacation. I haven't taken a vacation in three years, because normally we go on tour [in the summer]. I have the time, and the sun, to just chill and relax and spend time in my dance studio." Sporting a flowing halter dress and flat sandals, the petite Dancing pro looked set for summer already.Burke's studio, which opened April 4, is already seeing big crowds on its dance floor. Is Julianne Hough's music career taking off? The two-time Dancing with the Stars champ sold 67,000 copies of her self-titled debut CD in its first week — "a robust start," says Billboard senior analyst Geoff Mayfield. "She has the third best-selling album on the Billboard 200 list and was No. 1 on the Top Country Albums." And get this: Since the album was released May 20 (the same day as the Dancing finale), Julianne couldn't hit the stores to buy it until the show wrapped! Julianne Hough's taking a brief break from the dance floor to cohost this year's CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock. The newly minted singer is sharing duties with country stars Taylor Swift and Kellie Pickler.Along with the three lovely cohosts, the four-day festival in Nashville is a nonstop parade of music and parties, featuring concerts by Billy Ray Cyrus, Faith Hill, Trace Adkins and Dwight Yoakam, among others. Night to Rock is taping during the festival, June 5-8, and is set to air Monday, September 8 at 9 pm/ET on ABC.
