And the New Bachelor Is …

Chris Soules

ABC has chosen Chris Soules as the next star of The Bachelor, it was announced Wednesday on Good Morning America.

"I was humbled, flattered, grateful," he said during the reveal. "Coming from a small town I never expected to have this opportunity to be on either show, let alone be the lead on The Bachelor. So it's been awesome."

Soules, 32, became a fan-favorite on the most recent season of The Bachelorette and made it to the Final 3. During his fantasy suite date with Andi, she decided to let him go before the night was over. Following his exit, the Iowa farmer told us, "It's OK to [be vulnerable]. When I get the opportunity with the right person, I can do that and still survive if it doesn't work out and still do it again. This helped me learn a lot about myself and how to cope and put yourself in situations and manage it as an adult and without family and friends. I know it helped me grow."

Jason Biggs and Taylor Schilling

As most people know, Netflix's successful series Orange Is the New Blackis based on the memoir of Piper Kerman's time spent in prison. In an article in the online magazine Matter titled "My Life with Piper: From Big House to Small Screen," Smith talks about the other side of the true story. From his near-perfect life essentially crashing at 29 to Kerman's incarceration, her book, the TV series and everything in between, Smith shines a light on what it's like to be that guy -- played by Jason Biggs -- who inspired a big part of Orange. Here are 10 things we learned from his story.

Beyoncé Puts Divorce Rumors to Rest with a Kiss from Jay Z on VMAs Stage

Blue Ivy Carter, Jay-Z and Beyonce

Beyonce used the MTV stage yet again to put rumors to rest. Although she confirmed her pregnancy with a belly rub a few years back, this time she used a kiss with her husband Jay Z  to perhaps squash reports that the couple is heading for divorce.

On hand to receive the prestigious Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, the 32-year-old diva performed a 16-minute set (watch it here) that included "Drunk in Love," "Mine" and "Jealous" as Jay watched from the audience with the couple's daughter Blue Ivy on his lap. Miley Cyrus Nabs Top Honor at VMAs, Homeless Teen Accepts Award on Her Behalf

Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus was the big winner at Sunday night's MTV Video Music Awards, but it wasn't receiving the top honor or giving an outrageous performance that had people talking. Instead, Cyrus didn't even take the stage -- she had a young homeless man accept the trophy on her behalf, while she watched through tears from her seat.

After Jimmy Fallon announced that Cyrus won Video of the Year for "Wrecking Ball," the 21-year-old hugged a young man who then walked on stage, speech in hand. "My name is Jessie," he said. "I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now ... Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have the same dreams that brought many of you here tonight." After sharing staggering statistics about homelessness, particularly in Los Angeles, Jessie pointed the audience to Cyrus' Facebook page, adding, "A dream you dream alone is only a dream. But a dream we dream together is reality."
