I am so drunk. I am so drunk, I can hardly control my redheaded tongue. Meredith from The Office here. There's no telling what I'll say about Jim and Pam and the rest of the Office dirt. God help the bartender. He's like a priest. He hears things in the strictest of confidence in my drunken stupor. I can't tell you the bar or the bartender in case he has a weak moment. I am not waiting for the black coffee to kick in.OK, here goes. This is the real story. Jim and Pam are never going to get together... in this week's episode, "Safety Training." Don't repeat that. You seem nice enough. You won't tell anyone that I said that, will you? It's hot in here. I better open a window. I am drunk because I miss everyone. We just stopped working two weeks ago. Why am I drunk? That's why I am drunk. Is anybody listening to ol' Mer? Is anybody else feeling hot? I hope that's dried oatmeal on my sweater. I am drunk. But who am I trying to kid? I'd be drunk even if I was at work. Anyway....I am just ...

Hello, Office fans. Have you survived the rerun hell? Can you handle a brand-new episode? Well, then, grab something tall and cold, and get ready. "The Negotiation" is this week's long-anticipated new episode. Just to mess you up, it's on at 8 pm/ET instead of 8:30. What I love about this episode is the great Craig Robinson. What makes Craig so great? He is the nicest guy in the world, and he likes to sing with redheaded actresses. Ever since the first season, the "Basketball" episode, we've been singing together. We sing on the set and in the hair and makeup trailer. We sound good together, but sometimes people are not in the mood to hear our amazing duets, mostly from the '80s, in the style of Peabo Bryson and Linda Ronstadt, Billy Preston and Celine, Kim Carnes and Kenny Rogers, Kenny Loggins and Stevie Nicks, Stevie Nicks and Tom Petty — you get the idea. So we just sing until we feel it's time. Craig has a comedy act that is very musical and so do I. My comedy act, the La...

Hi, it's the Office drunk. No new episodes that I can talk about this week, so I will tell you what the cast has been up to lately. It's been party central awards shows, movie premieres amid shooting Season 3. First off, Phyllis and I had fun at the Genesis Awards. We presented the Outstanding Animated Feature Film category. Happy Feet won. My zipper busted on the way, and I had to get sewn into my borrowed Sue Wong dress. Classic! Thank goodness there was an animal lover who knew how to sew! I also wore Erica Courtney Jewelry and Erica was at the event. Love that. It all worked out OK. I have to say that the teleprompter is tricky without rehearsal, but we did OK. She knew more people than I did. I recognized a lot of people there, including Loretta Swit from M*A*S*H. I loved her. There were a ton of fans of The Office so we felt very welcome. At these awards they showed quite a bit of cruelty to animals to make a point. We enjoyed the very, very vegan meal they serve...

Hello, Office freaks and fans. It has been another interesting week on The Office for those of us who are lucky enough to get to be a part of this show. Last night we all went to the opening of Rainn's new movie, The Last Mimzy. It was great that the whole cast could be there (sans Steve). Rainn was so great. He is such a great actor. He makes it look very easy. We had a great time at the party afterwards. It's a kid's movie and there were kids there and they loved Rainn when he was on screen. So did the adults. Back to The Office. We are shooting like crazy these days. I am sworn to secrecy so I cant say much. We've been on location and in cars a lot the past few weeks. Its been fun and exhausting.Life's getting a little weird. Get this: They are shooting a pilot in my building this week. What does that mean? Well, now it is show business 24/7! Complete with trailers, trucks honey wagons, security, P.A.'s, A.D.'s, walkies and craft service. Weird. (It's not an NBC pilot...

Hello, all. It's been another great week for The Office and the Office drunk. I'm the redhead at the corner desk. Wild week. Not the typical Meredith-takes-her-top-off wild. Just interesting-and-jam-packed wild. The Office has now crossed a new threshold: An SNL parody! That is a milestone. Rainn Wilson hosted this past week and kicked some major ass. He is one of the most talented actors who I will ever work with. The Office sketch in the opening was pretty cool. Lorne Michaels was more like "Lorne Michaels Scott." No Meredith, but that's OK. (It could have been a guy in drag. I love drag, but I am sure it would have been subpar drag.) Anyway, as a comic actress who has had my own SNL "almost" story, I was really happy to see the Office opening. When I was in Chicago in 1991, I was touring with Second City and I did a show called The Miss Vagina Pageant (directed by Jill Soloway, a writer-producer from Six Feet Under) at the Annoyance Theater, and Lorne Michaels came to see it and ...

Office fans, unite. It's Kate Flannery with the latest on-set dirt and such. First of all, many thanks to all the fans of Dwight, Meredith and the bat from last week's episode, "Business School." I got so many bat calls and bat e-mails that I have to answer a few Frequently Asked Bat Questions: Yes, it was a real bat in the room. No, it wasn't a real bat in the bag with my head. There were bat wranglers and puppeteers, and our director, Joss Whedon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame, keeping us all in the right place. I loved working with Joss. He was really fun and very comfortable around bats! Rainn [Wilson] named the bat "Gary," since the bat came in nameless.Rainn and I had a lot of fun doing this scene with a bag over my head. There was a lot of screaming, which doesn't really bother me. I screamed a lot on stage in The Valley of the Dolls in NYC, and really learned how to scream often and not mess up my voice. I was a little sore the next day. Not bad. Rainn and I h...

Hello, Office groupies. This week's episode is another doozy! Ryan brings Michael to his business school to be a guest speaker, and Dwight tries to trap a bat in the office (and Meredith's hair gets in his way). Have you seen the promos with Rainn [Wilson] and me? May I say, I never looked lovelier! I don't know if you've noticed, but we don't get a lot of makeup on our show, and after this week's episode I will quit bitchin' about my lack of glamour. If you've seen the promos, you know how crazy my hair looks. So for all the vanity insanity that comes with mating and dating, I officially give up! Valentines, don't model your special look after me. Not unless you never want to see him again. The funniest thing about this show is that I kept saying, "The way I look on this show, I am never gonna get any." Well, I was dead wrong. My boyfriend of almost a year and I will be celebrating our first Valentine's Day off the beaten path. I didn't mean to use "beaten." He's a really nice guy. ...

Hello, this is Kate Flannery, the boozy redhead from the best show on TV, The Office. OK, maybe not the best show, but the best ensemble of a comedy series, according to the Screen Actors Guild. We won, fans. We won, and itfeels good and crazy, and I'm sore. (That award weighs 35 pounds!)I am here to talk about "Ben Franklin," the episode airing this week. There is a shower for Phyllis, but the big news is... Meredith yells at Angela!!!!! A new moody Meredith moment. Can you say alcoholic? I knew you could. How about that, sports fans? This is a funny episode written by Mindy Kaling aka Kelly Kapoor. It was fun to tell my old pal Angela to shut up. I am contractually obligated to keep my mouth shut, but they are showing this clip in the promos, so I'm cool. The new episodes have been a lot of fun to shoot — especially because we just found out that we are going to be back for a full fourth season. Ahh, job security. It keeps me very grateful.Speaking of grateful... we won a SAG...

Kate Flannery, aka The Office's Meredith, here. Just a quick word this week. "The Coup" is showing this week and it is a rerun with some of the best Michael/Dwight scenes. I love the Dwight/Jan scenes. Melora Hardin (Jan) is so hilarious. She plays her comedy straight up. No mixer, no ice. Neat. Like a three-finger pour. Dry. I am thirsty.I am just coming down from the Golden Globes high. I returned my borrowed jewels and wiped the residual eyelash glue out my eyes. Being an actor is so insane. This week has been really fun. We have been shooting a very big episode this week that I can't speak about yet, but it involves love and cake. My costume was reminiscent of that NBC classic comedy, Golden Girls you know, shoulder pads and gold thread. Meredith is as real as the woman behind the desk at your local DMV. Reality in fashion. That's The Office. The Office is getting bigger and better. Last week's episode put the ratings through the roof. The Office was the No. 1 sitcom last ...

Hello, Office fans. The Office drunk with the red hair here with all the Golden Globe news for Dunder-Mifflin fans. Do not mourn our loss the other night, friends. Do not. No, we did not walk away with a statuette. But we did walk away with the hearts of millions! At least that's what I tell myself. Everyone was so excited to see us there. Even real movie stars watch The Office. And how bad can you feel dolled up in a designer gown?!This week's episode is about Oscar's return ("The Return"). How ironic that the Golden Globes and "Oscars" are both in the same week! If I tell you what happened that day you would not believe it. I had a hectic day of hair and makeup. (In all honesty, I went to someone new, and I kind of felt like I looked like Phyllis Smith and Rashida Jones in last week's episode, when they drove out of the beauty parlor.) Beauty can be stressful, especially because I am getting used to Meredith's minimal documentary-style makeup. I wore a copper-colored satin dress b...
