Roush on Big Bang Theory
Question: I am hearing all over that after the strike ends, the networks are planning on bringing back existing shows but plan to save new series with full-season orders for relaunch next fall. Wouldn't this be ridiculous in the case of
The Big Bang Theory? It was gaining such ratings momentum — shouldn't CBS want to get it back on the air ASAP? People will be thinking that the show was canceled and forget about it if it's off the air for months and months. Do you know anything about CBS' plans for
The Big Bang Theory? I am concerned they are going to ruin this show.

Matt Roush: Relax. Multi-camera sitcom hits, even a new one like Big Bang, are among the most likely series to go back into production as soon as possible. This show was only able to air eight episodes before production was disrupted, and I imagine they'll try to eke out a few more before the season's over, if timing is on their side. Don't want to jump the gun here, and as I'm writing this, nothing has been settled yet. But I'm confident this show will regain its mojo as soon as it's back on the air with new episodes. It was getting funnier by the week, and I can't wait to see more. Its best days are ahead.
