Paula Names Her Picks for Idol's Final Four

As the Idol clock ticks toward the end of the road for the contestants, the stakes grow higher with each passing week. Paula Abdul, though, already has her sights set on the final moments. In an appearance Tuesday on the Morning Show with Mike and Juliet, she makes some big predictions: Abdul names Carly Smithson, David Archuleta, David Cook and Michael Johns as her picks for this year's final four.Abdul's interview, which will air April 1, not only sheds some light on what she's really thinking about the Idol hopefuls, but also reveals how she approaches her criticism and comments after each performance. This could become like a ping-pong match, folks. The lead in's Idol Power Rankings changed again this week, as Davids Cook and Archuleta traded places. Fueled by his show-stopping delivery of "Billie Jean," Cook commanded 48.1 percent of our readers' votes, while Archuleta slid back to a mere 18.7 percent. But has a third horse entered this race? Chikezie Has No Regrets About His Song Choice

Share them here in comments.His heartfelt rendition of “If Only for One Night” prompted Simon to call him “very cheesy.” But American Idol castoff Chikezie has no regrets about singing the Luther Vandross ballad on Wednesday night. “If I had another chance, I’d do it the exact same way,” he told TV Guide. “I knew Simon would hate it, but that song means a lot to me so I decided to do it anyway.”Needless to say, he wasn’t surprised by the outcome. “I felt I’d done a good job, but at this stage of the game, I might not be good enough,” says the 22-year-old. “It’s an amazing group of talent and I’m proud to have been part of it. More Celebs Set to Help Idol Give Back

American Idol's charitable arm, Idol Gives Back, has just announced the latest additions to its annual charity telecast, adding more star power to an already-stellar lineup. The show, which airs April 9 (Fox, 7:30 pm/ET), will now be graced with appearances from a huge range of talent, such as High School Musical up-and-comers Vanessa Hudgens and Ashley Tisdale, as well as other stars like Celine Dion, Forest Whitaker, Billy Crystal, Dane Cook, Kiefer Sutherland, Jennifer Connolly, Fantasia and Amy Adams.The new adds will be joining an impressive roster, which includes the likes of Miley Cyrus, Bono, Brad Pitt, Reese Witherspoon, and former Idols Chris Daughtry and Carrie Underwood. Viewers can make donations during the show via toll-free lines and the Internet. The donations will be spread across various groups and organizations and listed on the Idol Gives Back website. Idol's Songwriting Competition Returns

Have you written a song deserving of all the glitz and cheese that is the American Idol finale? Then today's your lucky day. For the second year in a row, Idol creator Simon Fuller and his company 19 Entertainment are scouring the country looking for the perfect song for this season's finalists to perform. Last year's winning number, "This Is My Now," beat out 25,000 songs to become the first single for Season 6 winner Jordin Sparks.Songs must be submitted online between today and March 31. The entries will be narrowed down to 20, and the winner will be chosen by fans through an online vote that begins April 10. The winning track will be announced and performed at the Season 7 finale on May 20. — Adam Bryant read more

"The Long and Winding Road" led David Archuleta back to the No. 1 spot in's American Idol Power Rankings this week, as the lad bounced back from his setback and reminded the audience of his pure pipes.
