Super-Busy Simon Says "Maybe" He Will Leave Idol

Simon Cowell

Apparently even Simon Cowell is mortal.

The man who brings a certain something to American Idol, its across-the-pond predecessor, X Factor, and Britain's Got Talent (watch clip here), is beginning to question whether he can keep the candle burning at all three ends. And that's not even factoring in his work as a music producer.

"I don't want to come over as whiney, because I am very grateful that I have got these jobs," Cowell tells the UK's Daily Mirror. "But there is a point where ... read more

Piano Unmanned: Did Mixed Signals Seal Scott's Fate?

Idol says goodbye to Scott MacIntyre.

Scott MacIntyre stands by his decision to bring out his axe and eventually "go out in a blaze of glory" with what would be his final performance on American Idol. But he does have a tiny bone to pick with Paula Abdul, who for weeks recommended that he take a break from tickling the ivories.

"Simon [Cowell] said it all that night, when [Paula] suggested that I come out from behind the piano: 'I don't think you'd ever see Billy Joel [do that],' or Elton John, Bruce Hornsby, Stevie Wonder...," says MacIntyre. "And from what I've heard, they don't."

"That's really where my heart is, when I'm ... read more

Idol's Megan Doesn't Regret Snubbing Simon: "I Couldn't Help But Be Honest"

Megan Joy with Kris Allen, upon her elimination.

Strategically, it was a questionable move.

Just before she made the bottom three this week, and knowing that were she to be eliminated, the Judges' Save would be in play, American Idol wannabe Megan Joy took a moment to snub Simon, saying, "I don't care" what the Brit thinks of her singing.

A half-hour later, the 23-year-old beauty learned that she had in fact received the lowest vote total. And due in part to the frankness she demonstrated earlier in the show, Simon said there would be no chance, none at all, for her to vie for the Judges' Save.

Joy, though, has "no regrets" about what she said.

"I wouldn't take anything back," she tells TVGuide.com. "I was happy to ... read more
