Zsa Zsa Gabor is resting comfortably after the amputation of her right leg, her publicist tells The Associated Press.

Zsa Zsa Gabor returns home from hospital

"The surgery today [Friday] went well, however, she is in frail health so we will continue to monitor her closely," UCLA Medical Center's Dr. David Rigberg said, adding that there were no complications during the surgery.

Gabor, 93, broke her hip and had replacement surgery in July, and has been hospitalized multiple times for swelling in her legs and blood clots throughout her body.

"Ms. Gabor needed an amputation above her knee due to poor circulation and a large ulcerated area on her right leg," Rigberg said. "After consulting with her husband, Frederic Prinz von Anhalt, we felt this was the best medical course of action."

On Aug. 17, the Hungarian-born actress declined further treatment and was released after receiving her last rites. She returned to the hospital Aug. 31 after her husband found her unresponsive. She recovered and returned home.
