Fox Bumps Up First X Factor Live Show After Early World Series End

The X Factor

The major league baseball postseason is once again changing up The X Factor schedule, but this time, things seems to be in Simon Cowell's favor.

Following the San Francisco Giants' World Series sweep of the Detroit Tigers, Fox has pushed The X Factor's first live show up one day to Wednesday, Oct. 31 at 8/7c. In the show, originally set to air on Thursday, Nov. 1, the top 16 will perform live for the first time and new co-hosts Khloe Kardashian and Mario Lopez will also make their debuts.

The X Factor: Who else is going to the live shows?

Following the two-hour show, the top finalists will be revealed on Thursday, Nov. 1 (also at 8/7c) and then will face America's vote the following week.

In addition, Fox is airing a special rebroadcast of the announcement of the top 16, which previously aired in two parts on two different days because of a rain delay during the National League Championship Series between the Giants and the St. Louis Cardinals. At the time, Fox aired half of the top 16 announcement before cutting back to baseball — a move which Cowell called "a total f up."
