During Friday's World Cup quarterfinals, Germany beat France 1-0, while Brazil took down Colombia 2-1, sending both countries to the semifinals.
Germany became the first team to reach the final four after Mats Hummels scored the game's only goal in the 13th minute.

Meanwhile, Brazil held off Colombia's strong and often overly physical effort to stay in the Cup. Thiago Silva scored for the home country in the 7th minute, while David Luiz scored in the 69th minute. James Rodriguez scored a late goal in the 80th minute for Colombia.
Silva, Brazil's captain, was later given a yellow card and will miss the semifinals against Germany.
The World Cup continues on Saturday with quarterfinal matches between Argentina vs. Belgium (noon/11c, ABC) and Netherlands vs. Costa Rica (4/3c, ESPN).
