The veteran comic will play the father of Phil (Ty Burrell) dad in the upcoming holiday episode of Modern Family, TVGuide.com has confirmed.

Best known for films such as Best in Show and A Mighty Wind, Willard was recently seen on the short-lived sitcom Back to You. His appearance is just the latest celebrity casting coup for the show, following cameos by Shelley Long, Benjamin Bratt and this week's guest stars, Edward Norton and Elizabeth Banks.
