And not just a social one, although guest Demi Lovato's pitch for the Pacer Center during last night's photo shoot to promote anti-bullying among teens was spot on (and super important). No, we're talking about Tyra and company's unexpectedly responsible decision to eliminate Anamaria for being too thin.
Throughout the episode, the skeletal wannabe from Queens continually trash talked her competitors, calling them "nobodies" and quipping about their "busted walks" during the first challenge's elevated runway. Yet it was Anamaria who was brought down a few pegs after her photos caught the judges off-guard. "Your body doesn't look healthy and it made me very uncomfortable," critiqued La Banks, who later urged the ousted 19-year-old to put on some weight "so you can project an image that doesn't feel as if you're hurting your body."
Smart advice... and even smarter of Top Model to promote healthy living to its houseful of hopefuls. As Diane von Furstenberg said, "Beauty is health. And if you're not healthy, you lose your beauty."
