Watercooler: Gossip Girl's Best Non-Couple

OK, we know we've said it before, but this bears repeating: Dan and Blair take Gossip Girl to a whole new level.
Even though they may not be couple-ish like they were last season, the writers have wisely salvaged the pairing by easing them into the kind of friendship the show needed. Honest, humorous and, of course, peppered with La Waldorf's haughty Upper East snide commentary about their class differences, the mismatched buds are the realest thing going in a world where Serena can land a job in Hollywood by simply having read a book and Elizabeth Hurley wants to do Nate in a stairwell.
Last night, we got another dose of Penn Badgley and Leighton Meester's engaging dynamic after Dan hauled himself from Brooklyn to give Blair an assist as she struggled with her secret pregnancy. Should she tell Prince Snoozy, even though the baby might be Chuck's? Or should she keep quiet and risk a royal scandal by giving birth to a Bass-tard? There are no easy answers, for sure, but when she confessed to Lonely Boy that she was "afraid to lose everything" and he replied, "you'll still have me," there was no question that we XOXO these two more than ever.
