The Voice's Blake Shelton Apologizes for Anti-Gay Tweet

Blake Shelton was in hot water Thursday after GLAAD called for an apology for The Voice judge's anti-gay tweet.
On Wednesday night, Shelton tweeted, "Re-writing my fav Shania Twain song.. Any man that tries Touching my behind He's gonna be a beaten, bleedin', heaving kind of guy..."
In contrast to the original lyrics -- "Any man of mine better walk the line/Better show me a teasin', squeezin', pleasin' kinda time" — GLAAD felt Shelton was seemingly threatening any man who took a pass at him. The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation then called on the country singer, demanding an apology.
Should The Voice have allowed a second-chance round?
On Thursday morning, Shelton responded with a series of tweets. "Hey y'all allow me to seriously apologize for the misunderstanding with the whole re-write on the Shania song last night," he wrote. "It honestly wasn't even meant that way... I now know that [there] are people out there waiting to jump at everything I say on here or anywhere... But when it comes to gay/lesbian rights or just feelings... I love everybody. So go look for a real villain and leave me out of it!!!"
In response to Shelton's apology, GLAAD President Jarrett Barrios released a statement: "Blake Shelton took the right step in speaking out against anti-gay violence and sending an important message to his fans and viewers of The Voice."
