Virginia Madsen Tapped for ABC's Scoundrels

Oscar nominee Virginia Madsen will play the lead role in ABC's new dramedy Scoundrels, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Based on the New Zealand series titled Outrageous Fame, Scoundrels centers on a matriarch (Madsen) of a criminal family who wants her family to clean up their act after her husband is slapped with a long-term prison sentence.

Tony Hale and Matt Letscher join Awkward Situations for Men

Richard Levine and Lyn Greene (Nip/Tuck), who wrote Scoundrels, will serve as executive producers and showrunners. The series is set for an eight-episode run this summer.

Madsen recently finished her recurring role on the final season of Monk.
