Victoria's Secret Models Rock the Runway
Victoria's Secret Fashion Show
When Heidi Klum announced her retirement as Victoria's Secret's top model in September, all eyes turned to Adriana Lima — not that that doesn't happen regularly — the likely successor to inherit Klum's wings as the lingerie brand's "head angel." It's a suggestion the Brazilian-born beauty brushes aside. "I don't consider myself head angel. I think each one of us has a different personality," Lima says.
Still, she was chosen to wear the $2 million Fantasy Bra at this year's peekaboo parade in NYC. It's no small honor, considering the supermodel, 29, missed last year's show to give birth to daughter Valentina with husband Marko Jaric. "It was a big challenge. I gained a lot of weight and had to get ready." Her secret: boxing, jumping rope and green veggies. "Nothing carb!" she says.
Joining Lima is the usual heavenly host of angels, as well as musical guests Akon and newlywed Katy Perry, whose own va-va-voom figure may make her hard to distinguish from the models. "This isn't only a fashion show — it is a show," says Lima. "We have celebrities, musicians and sometimes a choir. You can see everything." That's one way of putting it.
Victoria's Secret Fashion Show airs tonight at 10/9c on CBS. Check out a video of the models lip syncing Perry's song "Firework" here.
