Gabby Douglas has made no secret of the fact that she's a huge Vampire Diaries fan — and apparently the feeling is mutual.
After the show's executive producer, Julie Plec, gave the 16-year-old gymnast a shout-out on Twitter after her all-around win at the Olympics, Douglas responded: " Awww thank you soo much!!! Btw this is one of my FAVORITE SHOW! #TheVampireDiaires #Guessappearance? [sic] lol :) <3."
Douglas' angling for a guest appearance might not be that farfetched. On Monday, cast members from the show, including Nina Dobrev, Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder, posted a video on YouTube congratulating Douglas and wishing her luck in Tuesday's balance beam final.

"We heard you're a big fan of The Vampire Diaries," Wesley says. "We'd like to congratulate you and the U.S. women's team on your gold medal."
"All of us are big fans of you too," Somerhalder says.
"We want to wish you and Aly [Raisman, Douglas' teammate] good luck on Tuesday," Dobrev adds. "We're really going to be pulling for you here at Mystic Falls."
