VIDEO: Gymnast Drama Takes a Page from Friday Night Lights Playbook

Make It or Break It, the new series about wannabe Olympic gymnasts, stuck its landing in its debut, delivering the largest audience for an ABC Family premiere since The Secret Life of the American Teenager.
Frasier alum Peri Gilpin visited the TVGuide.com offices to talk up the show, on which she plays mom to a pair of vaulting, tumbling prospects. The actress shared insight on her character's very different daughters, and how the girls' parents have made sacrifices in the name of hopefully one day pursuing Olympic gold.
Gilpin also shared an inside look at perhaps the series' biggest stars — the editing team who helps the young cast "pull off" their impressive leaps and bounds. In that respect, Gilpin likens Make It or Break It to another compelling and exciting teen-oriented sports drama — the venerable Friday Night Lights.
