It's the White Falcons versus the Blue Sharks when Fort Boyard — Ultimate Challenge returns for its second season on Monday. The Disney XD reality/adventure game show — part of a worldwide franchise airing in 30 countries — pits six teams of 24 teens against each other on a quest to win the title of "conquerors of Fort Boyard" (named for the 19th Century fortress off the coast of western France where the show is filmed.) Teams compete in a series of Survivor-esque challenges that combine physical tasks and puzzles.
Joining the Falcons and Sharks are Red Vipers, Yellow Scorpions, Green Jaguars and Silver Dragons. In the clip below from Monday's season premiere, two members from each team must pull a rope with weights attached hanging 50 feet out the window of the fort in order to get the codes and unlock the key that will give them more time in the climactic treasure chamber, where they collect coins that help them advance in the game.
Season 2 of Fort Boyard — Ultimate Challenge premieres Monday at 7/6c on Dixney XD. New episodes will air every weekday for two weeks, leading up to the finale on Friday, Jan. 27.
