USA Gets Political with Greg Berlanti Miniseries

USA has ordered a six-hour political miniseries from Brothers & Sisters and Dirty Sexy Money producer Greg Berlanti.
Slated to premiere in the summer, Political Animals will focus on Elaine Barrish, a divorced former first lady and current secretary of state (hmm, sounds familiar, no?) who struggles to keep her family together as she deals with the State Department crises. She strikes an unlikely friendship with Susan Berg, a journalist who had spent her career tearing Elaine down.

Berlanti wrote and will direct the pilot, as well as serve as an executive producer with Laurence Mark.
"We've been chasing Greg for years," Jeff Wachtel, USA co-president, said in a statement. "We can't think of a better partner to be working with as we expand the storytelling reach of the network."
