He's at it again! Tyler Perry has signed a deal to bring dramedy series For Better or Worse to TBS. The show will be based on his Why Did I Get Married? film franchise and feature Married's Michael Jai White and Tasha Smith reprising their roles. TBS has ordered 10 episodes of the series, which is expected to debut in the fall.

Worse follows Tyler's successful TBS series Meet the Browns and House of Payne, the latter of which will wrap its 222-episode run as Worse is launching.

"Even though it will be sad to say goodbye to House of Payne, I'm really looking forward to exploring new territory with For Better or Worse," Perry said. "Working on House of Payne taught me a lot about what it takes to make a successful television series and I'm looking forward to applying that experience to For Better or Worse."

Michael Wright, the head of programming for TBS, TNT and Turner Classic Movies, pointed to Perry's "remarkable track record."

"Tyler Perry's series have been tremendously successful for TBS, helping establish the network as a prime destination for African-American viewers," said Wright.

Worse will target young adults, as opposed to the family-skewing audience of his previous sitcoms.
