The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 2, the fifth and final film in the franchise, grossed an estimated $141.3 million in its opening weekend to easily grab the top spot, Box Office Mojo reports. The film now ranks as the eighth highest-grossing opening ever, and the fourth highest of 2012. However, Breaking Dawn — Part 2 failed to eclipse New Moon's record for best Twilight opening weekend, set back in 2009 at $142.8 million.
