Travolta Testifies, Acknowledges Son Was Autistic

John Travolta took the stand in a Bahamian court Wednesday to testify in an extortion case where, for the first time, he publically acknowledged that his 16-year-old son Jett suffered from autism, People reports.
"My son was autistic and he suffered from seizure disorder every 5 to 10 days," Travolta told the court. "He would suffer a seizure that would last 45 seconds to a minute and sleep for 12 hours."

During his testimony, the actor recounted the moments leading up to his son's sudden death back in January.
Travolta testified he was awakened by a nanny before quickly running downstairs to perform CPR on his son. "Jeff [Kathrein], the other nanny, was doing some compressions. I was doing the breathing," said the actor.

In the trial, the prosecution alleges that Tarino Lightbourne, one of the first paramedics on the scene, conspired with former Bahamas Senator Pleasant Bridgewater to extort $25 million from Travolta in return for not making public a document relating to Jett's treatment. The two have pleaded not guilty.
