Tracy Morgan is in critical condition after getting into a fatal six-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in New Jersey, CNN reports.
The 30 Rock and Saturday Night Live alum was a passenger in a limo bus that was overturned in a wreck with two tractor-trailers and an SUV around 1 a.m. on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident left seven injured and fellow comedian James McNair dead.
"[New Jersey State Police] says the driver of the tractor-trailer failed to observe slow-moving traffic ahead," Sgt. Gregory Williams told CNN. "At the last minute, he swerved to try and avoid the Mercedes limo bus but struck it from behind, forcing the limo to rotate and overturn."
Kevin Roper, the driver of one of the trucks involved in the incident, has been charged with one count of death by auto and four counts of assault by auto, according to The Wrap.

"Tracy remains in critical condition at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital," a rep for the actor said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "He sustained these injuries in an accident that occurred early this morning as one of several passengers in a chauffeured SUV returning from a tour date in Delaware. His family is now with him and he is receiving excellent care. We don't anticipate much of a change in his condition today but will provide a further update once more information becomes available."
Police do not believe alcohol was a factor in the accident, Williams told CNN.
Morgan had performed Friday night at the Dover Downs Hotel and Casino in Delaware.
