Trace Adkins Loses Tennessee Home to Fire

Trace Adkins' Brentwood, Tenn., home burned down after a fire that ignited in the garage spread to the attic, CNN reports.

Adkins' three youngest daughters, their nanny and his dog all escaped the Saturday evening blaze, his wife told the cable news channel. Rhonda Adkins was driving a few blocks away when a neighbor called her about the fire. When she reached the house, she found all three children safe on the front lawn.

"They ran to their safe place like we practiced, in the front yard at a big tree," she told CNN. "And it worked. You know, fire safety is so important, and today we used it."

Her husband was en route to Alaska for two concerts. The country singer and former Celebrity Apprentice contestant's publicist said he immediately boarded a flight to return to Tennessee when he landed.

"Trace wishes to express his gratitude for the immediate response of the Brentwood Fire Department and is humbled by the outpouring of concern from friends and fans," Adkins' spokesman said in a statement.

Adkins, 49, just released his latest single, "Just Fishin,'" the video for which features him and his youngest child, Trinity.
