Tony Scott Not Suffering From Brain Cancer at Time of Suicide

Tony Scott

According to Tony Scott's toxicology reports, the director was not suffering from brain cancer or any other pre-existing medical condition at the time of his suicide.

Los Angeles County chief coroner investigator Craig Harvey told The Los Angeles Times that Scott's official cause of death was multiple blunt-force injuries he sustained after leaping from L.A.'s Vincent Thomas Bridge on Aug. 19.

Scott did have the therapeutic levels of both the sleep aid Lunestra and the anti-depressant Mirtazipine in his system when he took his life.

After Scott's death, many media outlets reported the Top Gun director had been diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor, but Scott's wife denied the reports. Though Scott's wife's claims have been confirmed, the family has yet to offer another explanation as to why Scott chose to end his life.
