Lost

"The End" is coming! Tomorrow, in fact. But tonight, it's the beginning. The series' spellbinding 2004 pilot begins with Jack coming to in the jungle minutes after the crash of Flight 815. He takes charge almost immediately, and as he does you'll meet the whole gang as they meet each other (Sawyer and Sayid with haymakers). You'll also meet two notable nonspeaking (but hardly silent) characters: a polar bear and (though you won't actually see it) the smoke monster. Sawyer manages to shoot the bear, but smoky will prove harder to dispatch. — Paul Droesch

Puppies. They're cute, cuddly bundles of energy with the amazing power to get people to love them with just one glance. They can also be a handful. Is it any wonder that a dog trainer with her own television show would devote a whole episode to them? In this special, Victoria Stilwell helps two families adjust to life with their baby dogs. — Rhoda Charles

Tonight, one lucky viewer gets a big head start when Orman announces the winner of the $10,000 Instant Emergency Fund Sweepstakes. Then, in the "Can I Afford It?" segment, viewers ask about buying a Rolex and renting a South Carolina vacation home. — Jeff Gemmill

How far should people go to prolong the life of a terminally ill child? That's the subject of this 2009 drama in which parents Sara (Cameron Diaz) and Brian (Jason Patric) decide to have another child, Anna (Abigail Breslin), to be a genetic match — and reliable donor — for their older daughter, Kate (Sofia Vassilieva), who has leukemia. Based on Jodi Picoult's novel, the PG-13 rated film also stars Alec Baldwin as a lawyer who helps Anna when she begins to resent the reason for her existence. — Joe Friedrich
