The Ten Commandments

Cecil B. DeMille updated his own 1923 silent film, utilizing Oscar-winning special effects and panoramic shots to chronicle the Biblical story. The sweeping 1956 epic tracks the life of Moses (Charlton Heston), including his birth, enslavement, the deliverance of the Israelites from Egypt and his climb up Mount Sinai to receive the tablets containing God's commands. The film features an all-time classic cinematic treasure: the awe-inspiring re-creation of the parting of the Red Sea. The A-list cast includes Yul Brynner, Anne Baxter, Edward G.
