Kevin Dillon and Adrian Grenier, Entourage

Entourage
10 pm/ET HBO
In ordinary times, Turtle's secret romp with Jamie-Lynn Sigler — and revelation that his real name is Sal — would be big news. But after Vince got canned from Smokejumpers and the film was simply shut down by the no-nonsense John Ellis, the actor's career looks to be in even more danger, if possible, than after Medellin. The boys head back to NYC to lick their wounds in tonight's fifth-season finale, but is it too far-fetched to wonder, when Season 6 begins next summer, if Vince will still be in the movie business? — Joe Friedrich

24: Redemption
8 pm/ET Fox
In this bridge between the sixth and seventh seasons, Jack Bauer is a man without a country. Wanted by the U.S. government, he ends up at a school in Africa, where he's attempting to prevent a warlord from abducting children into a marauding militia. In the wake of the horrors of Abu Ghraib, Jack also confronts his own torturous past. Will a kinder, gentler Jack Bauer emerge? Back in the U.S., a new president (Cherry Jones) and a new nemesis (Jon Voight) await Jack. — Fred Mitchell

True Blood
9 pm/ET HBO
So is Rene's humble Cajun thing an act? After Sookie barely escaped harm at his and Arlene's party and a fax machine spit out his picture as Drew Marshall, circumstantial evidence could certainly point to him as the Bon Temps killer. Of course, Andy is pleased as punch that Jason confessed, so it might be up to Sookie to put the pieces together. But will she be the next victim? We'll find out tonight as this entertaining drama concludes its first season. (A second is scheduled to debut next summer.) — Joe Friedrich

A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All!
10 pm/ET Comedy Central
'Tis the season for lamenting the pre-Thanksgiving arrival of Christmas specials, but this hilarious addition to Yuletide fare is worth it. A turtleneck-and-cardigan clad Stephen Colbert is stranded in his mountain cabin, but he opens his door to a succession of singing visitors, including Elvis Costello, Toby Keith, Willie Nelson, Jon Stewart and Feist. Sure, these folks aren't known for their acting, but the songs are a riot. And after John Legend's number, you won't ever think about nutmeg the same again. — Joe Friedrich

American Music Awards
8 pm/ET ABC Jimmy Kimmell is back to host the big show for the third year in a row. Slated performers include Annie Lennox, who receives the Special Award of Merit, and such veteran stars as Christina Aguilera, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, Coldplay, Alicia Keys, Pink and Pussycat Dolls. Younger stars also made the bill, including Miley Cyrus, the Fray, the Jonas Brothers, Leona Lewis, Rihanna and Taylor Swift. Then there's the return of New Kids on the Block, more than a decade since their last appearance on the AMAs. — Fred Mitchell
