Tom Hanks is returning to his sitcom roots.
The two-time Oscar-winning actor will appear in an upcoming episode of 30 Rock, Hanks announced on Twitter.
"RadioMan delivers msg from T.Fey. Result? I'm on 30 Rock! Thanks, RMan Hanx," he wrote. Hanks doesn't explain why he cites "RadioMan," but he could be referring to a local New York celebrity known for hanging a radio around his neck. He's made several cameos in Hollywood projects, including 30 Rock.

Details on Hanks' role were not immediately available, but we hope it involves the Bosom Buddies alum putting on a dress again.
The guest stint on 30 Rock will mark Hanks' return to network television after more than two decades, when he made an appearance on Family Ties. The 54-year-old actor has appeared on cable in Band of Brothers and From the Earth to the Moon, both of which he produced.
NBC did not immediately respond to TVGuide.com's late request for comment.
