Professional golfer Tiger Woods is in "good condition" after crashing his car early Friday morning, his publicist said in a statement.

Woods, 33, was taken to the Ocoee, Florida hospital with serious injuries after a one-car accident near his home in Windermere, according to a report from the Florida Highway Patrol. According to the report, at approximately 2:25 am, Woods had just backed out of his driveway and was driving down his street when his Cadillac SUV struck a fire hydrant. The front part of the vehicle then hit a tree.

Immediately after the crash, it was Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, who helped free him from the car, People reports. "When [police] got there, he was laying in the street," Windermere Police Chief Daniel Saylor told the magazine. "His wife had broken out the back window with a golf club to get into the vehicle and pull him out."

Saylor also detailed Woods' injuries from the accident, although the exact extent of these injuries is still unknown. "When they got there, they noticed he had lacerations to his lower and upper lip and blood in his mouth and he was in and out of consciousness," he told People.

Few other details about the accident were released. However, according to the Orlando Sentinel, Wood's SUV was traveling under 33 mph at the time of the crash and alcohol was not involved.
