The CW Developing Wonder Woman Origin Series

Wonder Woman

It's only been a year since NBC rejected David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman series, but now The CW is trying its hand at the headbanded and cuffed crusader.

Well, actually, scratch the headband and cuffs.

Arrow bosses: We're taking the super out of superhero

Vulture
reports that the latest attempt to bring Wonder Woman to the small screen will focus on Diana of Themyscira just discovering her role as a crime-fighter, not as a full-out superhero.

The project, currently titled Amazon, is being written by Grey's Anatomy's Alan Heinberg, who is no stranger to the genre. He wrote the Young Avengers comics in 2005.

At the moment, The CW has only ordered a script and no pilot production is guaranteed. If Amazon is picked up, it would be the second DC Comics hero series on the network, which debuts the Green Arrow-centric Arrow this fall.
