Home Improvement's Taran Noah Smith Convicted of DUI and Drug Possession

Taran Noah Smith

Home Improvement alum Taran Noah Smith has been convicted of DUI and drug possession, TMZ reports.

Smith was arrested and charged in February after police smelled cannabis coming from his car, which was parked in front of a fire hydrant in Los Angeles. On Tuesday, Smith pleaded guilty to the drug possession charge and no contest to the DUI. He was sentenced to a 12-hour program for the DUI conviction and to a six-month drug diversion program. He was also placed on three years' probation and is due back in court in June.

Smith, 27, played the youngest son Mark on the ABC sitcom. He hasn't acted since Home Improvement went off the air in 1999, but he's been surrounded by controversy since. At 17, he sued his parents, accusing them of squandering his money. That same year, Smith married a woman 16 years his senior. The couple filed for divorce in 2007.
