Do a happy dance, Bunheads fans! Sutton Foster is returning to your television.
TV Land has ordered a new half-hour comedy series starring Foster and Hilary Duff from Sex and the City, Beverly Hills, 90210, and Melrose Place creator Darren Star, the cable network announced Monday.
Younger centers on Liza, a 40-year-old mother looking to get back into the workforce after she suddenly finds herself single. Realizing the odds of getting a job are stacked against her because she's an older woman, Liza enlists the help of her friend Maggie (Entourage's Debi Mazar) to help her pass as a 26-year old. Liza soon gets hired as an assistant to a temperamental boss (The Good Wife's Miriam Shor). Duff — in her first regular TV role since Lizzie McGuire — will play Liza's coworker.
Cult shows that deserve a movie
TV Land has ordered 12 episodes of the series for a fall 2014 premiere. And in a first for the network, Younger will shoot in New York City.
"There's nothing better than making a single-camera film comedy in New York—and I'm thrilled to be doing this one with TV Land," Star said in a statement. "Larry Jones, Keith Cox and their entire team have been incredibly supportinve. Looking forward to working with our awesome cast, led by my Broadway crush Sutton Foster."
