Question: What happened to some of the functionality and features?
The following will be added in over time:
- Comments from articles dated prior to Oct. 8, 2008
- The ability to spell check and cut and paste in the commenting area
- The ability to change your display name
- Past TV Show Recaps
We have no plans to add the following at this time:
- Previewing and editing in posts and URL tags
- Clicking on a display name to see a poster's other entries
Question: What are the changes that have been made to commenting?
Answer: We have made it easier to comment on news stories. If you are already registered on TVGuide.com, then nothing changes. Your user information is still the same and you will be able to login and comment directly on the article page. If you are new to TVGuide.com, you can quickly register to comment directly on the article page. Just remember to verify your account by clicking on the link in your verification email within 48 hours, otherwise your comment will disappear from the site.
Question: None of the posts (comments) I have made on any of the threads have appeared on my recent post log, and I have yet to receive e-mail notifications.
Answer: We now have two commenting systems: One for TVGuide.com-generated content and one for user-generated content. The functionality for comments appearing on user post logs and email notifications is no longer available for TVGuide.com-generated content. It is still available for user-generated content.
Question: What happened to the daily "Hot List"!
Answer: Sitewide, the Hot List is located in the "What's on TV" navigation tab at the top of the page. On the homepage, the Hot List is accessible in the "Tonight's TV" container (Click on "see all TV tonight").
Question: Where are the TV Show Blogs and how can I find the most recent ones?
Answer: The TV Show Blogs are now called TV Show Recaps and are listed under the "What's on TV" tab on the navigation. You can find them here. At the top of the "TV Show Recaps" Blog, you will see a list of all of the shows that TVGuide.com currently recaps. If you select your show, it will take you to an aggregate list of all of the recaps for that show. You can find the most recent TV Show Recaps listed on the News homepage here.
Question: Where are the TV Guide Editors' blogs?
Answer: The TV Guide Editors' blog posts can be sorted by individual editors by clicking on the byline underneath the story headline.
Question: How can I find the latest Roush Dispatches, Roush Reviews and Ask Matt columns?
Answer: Bookmark the Matt Roush page, which can be found here. All of the article types are currently mixed together. We will be clarifying the titles and adding tags to all of his stories in order for the user to be able to sort by the different types of stories that he posts.
Question: What happened to the "Online Video Blog," "Editors Views" and "Interviews & Features"?
Answer: These blogs are no longer listed in the navigation menus. However, these blogs have all been incorporated into our "Today's News" blog and a tagging system has been put in place. "Interviews" and "TV Hot List" are examples of articles tags which a user can click on from within an article to sort posts by subject.
Question: Why are "DVDs + More" and "Join the Discussion" gone from the top site navigation?
Answer: "DVD News" is now under the "News" tab on the navigation bar and "TV on DVD: On Sale" is now under "What's On TV" in the navigation bar. "Join the Discussion" has simply been renamed "Community." At the top of the "TV Show Recaps" Blog, you will see a list of all of the shows that TVGuide.com currently recaps. If you select your show, it will take you to an aggregate list of all of the recaps for that show. You can find the most recent TV Show Recaps listed on the News homepage here.
