Chicago Hope creator David E. Kelley is back in the medical drama business. This time around, he'll be penning the pilot of  Chelsea General for TNT, a project based on the upcoming novel Monday Mornings by CNN's chief medical correspondent, Dr. Sanjay Gupta.

The book, scheduled for publication in March, chronicles the personal and professional lives of five surgeons. Gupta, a practicing neurosurgeon himself, will executive-produce the pilot alongside Kelley.

"Chelsea General promises to be a smart, witty and extremely powerful medical drama, the kind of series David E. Kelley is renowned for making," said Michael Wright, executive vice president head of programming for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies. "We look forward to working with David and Sanjay in bringing the doctors' fascinating stories and characters to television."
