TNT has ordered a new cooking competition series from Mark Burnett that will let viewers actually taste the winning dish, the network announced Monday.
Each episode of On the Menu will center on a different food business — restaurant chains, theme parks, etc. — where amateur cooks will work with professional chefs to create the business' next signature menu item. The winning dish will actually go on the menu, allowing viewers to actually sample the dish the very next day.
Mark Burnett's space-themed reality show lands at NBC
"We are excited to offer the viewer at home a unique opportunity to actually be part of our series," executive producer Mark Burnett said. "To be able to taste the winning dish the next day brings the series tangibly into the viewer's own life experience."
The series will premiere in 2014. Will you be watching?
