TLC Plans Weeklong Royal Wedding Coverage

TLC is planning a week of royal wedding specials and coverage leading up to the April 29 wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, the cable channel announced Wednesday.

Five days before the wedding, it will air specials featuring archived and other footage, interviews and a round-table discussion with experts on royalty. And staying true to the TLC brand — home of Hoarding: Buried Alive — the U.K.-themed week will also feature British and U.S. hoarders and "extreme" collectors of royal memorabilia.

TLC even plans to cover the wedding live.
"With the success of TLC's wedding shows, we wanted to get behind this epic event in a big way and provide our viewers with this special lineup to help enhance their overall royal experience leading into the wedding," said TLC programming executive Nancy Daniels.
