Bryan Fuller Cooks Up Heroes Role for Daisies Star

Swoosie Kurtz

Pushing Daisies fans still have some mourning to do, but Bryan Fuller's return to Heroes is already boding well for them.

The series' creator wrote a part for Daisies star Swoosie Kurtz to air this spring, TVGuide.com has confirmed. A rep for the actress said that she'll be playing a woman (or a hero...?) named Millie for at least one episode — but few other details were revealed. EW's Ausiello first reported the casting. Still to be determined is whether Kurtz's appearance will become a recurring role next season.  "We'll see what the writers' pens do," her rep said.

Fuller, who was one of the original executive producers on Heroes, left to pursue Daisies. Following that show's recent demise, he entered talks to return to NBC's ailing sci-fi drama amidst low ratings and the ouster of exec producers Jeph Loeb and Jesse Alexander.

Now that Fuller's back on his Heroes turf, what do you think of his first new casting? And just how will "Millie" play into the crowded cast roster?
