Supernatural's sixth season ends next Friday, but fans have a nice treat to look forward to during the summer hiatus. Supernatural: The Anime Series, a 22-episode Japanese offshoot of the CW drama, will be released in the United States on July 26. Produced by animation studio Madhouse, the series is set during Seasons 1 and 2 of the live-action show, as Sam and Dean Winchester search for their missing father and begin their demon-hunting odyssey. For the U.S. release, Warner Home Video has recruited Supernatural star Jared Padalecki to reprise his role as Sam in all 22 episodes, while Jensen Ackles voices Dean in several episodes.
Supernatural: The Anime Series will be released on DVD, Blu-ray as well as On Demand and for download. TV Guide Magazine has your exclusive first look at the trailer:
