Super Saver, who was 15-1 on the morning line, won the Derby after Conveyance, the early leader, lost his lead. The favorite, Lookin at Lucky, failed to impress.
Dustin Hoffman finds Luck at HBO
The win was the second straight Derby win for jockey Calvin Borel, who last year won riding ultimate underdog Mine That Bird.
Borel also rode Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra to victory in the Preakness last year.
