Steve Carell's Carousel Adds TV Production Arm

Steve Carell

Steve Carell's newest branch has nothing to do with Dunder Mifflin.

The Office star has established a TV division of his Carousel Prods., which has also inked an overall three-year first-look deal with Universal Media Studios, the Office's studio home, Variety reports.

The arm will be headed by Carell's former Daily Show colleague, Thom Hinkle, and Campbell Smith. Hinkle, who created and co-executive produced Getting Aboard, The Deadbeats and I Bet You, and Smith also worked together at North South Prods.

"Thom and Campbell are smart, funny and creative, and they also smell great," Carell said.

Carousel Prods. is already making a mark in the film industry. Last fall, it signed a pact with Warner Bros. to develop comedies, some of which will be tailored for Carell himself.
