Go shorty! 50 Cent's TV drama Power has been renewed for a second season less than a week after its premiere, Starz announced Wednesday.
Centered on a wealthy family man and nightclub owner (Omari Hardwick) who leads a double life as the kingpin of one of the biggest drug networks in New York, Power is executive-produced by the rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson. Jackson also co-stars in the series, which debuted on June 7 to 1.27 million viewers.
More must-watch new summer shows
"I am so grateful to Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik and everyone at Starz for their support of Power," series creator Courtney Kemp Agboh said in a statement. "I am thrilled and excited to have the opportunity to create a season two that we plan to be bigger and better than the first."
Added Jackson: "Power is a project extremely close to my heart and working with Chris Albrecht, Carmi Zlotnik and the Starz team has been the perfect fit for this. Viewers may be loving the start of season one now, but season two will blow them away."
Production on Power's 10-episode second season will start in September. Are you excited for more? Watch the series premiere here.
