The gruesome series attracted 553,000 viewers on Starz and then an additional 460,000 on Encore on Friday, making it the network's most-watched series premiere, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Starz's other original series, Crash, earned 185,000 viewers for its second-season premiere last fall.
Once DVR numbers and encore telecasts are accounted for, Starz projects the episode to top 2 million viewers.
