True Blood's Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) is getting a man.
Southland's Kevin Alejandro will join Alan Ball's vampire drama, appearing in most episodes of the upcoming third season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Alejandro will play an orderly who attends to Ruby Jean Reynolds (played by Alfre Woodard) at her care facility and strikes up a romance with her son, Lafayette.

Alejandro's new gig doesn't mean he's severing ties with Southland. Because TNT plans to air the already produced 13 episodes of the cop drama — starting Jan. 12 — before deciding if it wants to move forward with a second season, Alejandro can manage a commitment to both shows.
Alejandro has appeared in Shark, Ugly Betty, Weeds and 24.
